Andrea Heinz

Andrea Heinz is an independent activist and a peer-reviewed scholar specializing in commercial sexual exploitation. Drawing on her lived experience of seven years in Edmonton’s licensed sex industry (2006–2013), including escorting, Ms. Heinz has become a leading voice in advocating for change and educating communities on issues of exploitation and systemic harm.
Currently, she serves as the Program Coordinator and Facilitator of the Sex Trade Offender Program (STOP) with CEASE, where she guides efforts to challenge harmful behaviors and reduce demand for sexual exploitation.

Ms Heinz’s exceptional contributions have earned her numerous accolades, including:
- Woman of Courage Award (2020)
- Inaugural Dr. Zohra Husaini Memorial Award for Exceptional Dedication to Advancing Human Rights (2024)
- Human Rights Champion Award from the John Humphrey Centre for Peace & Human Rights (2024)
In addition to her advocacy work, Ms Heinz has co-authored “When Men Buy Sex: Who Really Pays?”, adding to her efforts to amplify understanding and create actionable change. She inspires others with her resilience, knowledge, and unwavering commitment to justice.
